Nvidia’s newest graphics card lineup, which includes the GeForce RTX 5090, announced at CES 2025.
The January 7, 2025, announcement features Nvidia’s new flagship GPU, which will retail for $1,999 starting on January 30, 2025.
The RTX 5090 will replace the RTX 4090, carrying on Nvidia’s tradition of providing powerful GPUs for both professional and gaming applications.
Nvidia unveiled a number of additional models in addition to the RTX 5090, such as the RTX 5080, which retails for $999, the RTX 5070 Ti, which costs $749, and the RTX 5070, which costs $549.
It is anticipated that the RTX 5070 would perform similarly to the RTX 4090, providing customers looking for high-end performance at a reduced cost with a more cost-effective choice.
The RTX 4000 series, which had a noticeably longer lifespan, came to an end with the release of the new RTX 5000 series.
Nvidia usually releases new graphics cards every two years, but the RTX 4000 series lasted longer than usual, in part because AMD and Intel didn’t compete as much. Since its rivals had no equivalent products, Nvidia’s RTX 4090 had been the most potent desktop graphics card available.
Nvidia seems to be establishing the RTX 5090 as a major player in the GPU market despite the higher costs, carrying on the tradition of providing flagship models with a notable performance advantage over rivals.
The business may eventually release more reasonably priced models, like the RTX 5060, but for the time being, the more expensive 50-series cards are the most popular.
With the release of the RTX 5090, the growing need for strong GPUs that can manage taxing activities like complete ray tracing in contemporary games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be met.
It is anticipated that this card and the others in the RTX 5000 series will support the newest gaming technologies and maintain the competitiveness of high-performance PCs for a number of years.
